Background Story

“I watch over the sky, the sea... and your memories.”
A steadfast protector of Jiang, Da Qiao is also a very caring companion. She was once forced to marry someone out of filial piety, but on the night before her wedding, she met Sun Ce while she was standing on the shore, looking out to the sea in sorrow. If she is the port that he comes home to, then he is the light that brings her out of her darkness. Her controlling of the tides to protect this land is to fulfill her lover's dream and to exercise her will.

Character Relationships
Da Qiao's lantern guided Sun Ce to Jiang during a storm, and the two fell in love at first sight. Sun Ce was killed in a plot, however, and his death led Da Qiao to Eastwind Altar on a path of revenge.
A beautiful pair of twins were born to the Qiao clan, but according to their custom, this was seen as an ill omen. As such, the clan made the cold-blooded choice to groom the older sister as the heir, while the younger sister was removed from the family tree and sent to live in a foreign land.
The same cursed fate! Though Sima Yi single-handedly rescued and nurtured Jiang's baby girl, Da Qiao, he wasn't without ulterior motives. In order to keep her under his control, he even went so far as to kill her lover, Sun Ce.
Once, Da Qiao used lights to guide Zhou Yu and Sun Ce's fleet, and this granted her the opportunity to meet and fall in love with Sun Ce. The hand of fate was cruel, however, and Sun Ce's untimely death was a great loss to both Da Qiao and Zhou Yu.
